SINC MEMBERS ARE WRITING THE MYSTERIES OF LIFE

We are a Canadian chapter of the Sisters in Crime organization, an international writing community of more than 3,600 worldwide members. Our mission is to promote the ongoing advancement, recognition and professional development of women crime writers. Our goal is to bring the Western Canadian community of authors, librarians, booksellers and readers together.

Although our focus is on women crime writers, we welcome all writers and book lovers. We support and encourage writers at every stage of their career.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

With an Honours English BA from Western and a Creative Writing Certificate from the Humber School for Writers, Susan Carpenter has published and taught short fiction. She was longlisted for the CBC Nonfiction Prize and writes for and acts on stage and screen. Her debut novel Bad Advice hit Alberta bestseller lists three times in 2026. Susan is currently at work on the sequel.

Serena Curry is an unpublished mystery writer who is currently looking for representation for the first novel in her series, Frankie Boom Boom. Her love of writing is rivalled only by her passion for reading mystery novels.
